Catalina 22 Texas Circuit

THE BEGINNING

The Texas Circuit was discussed in 1999 at one of the local regattas. At that time David Hayslip volunteered to put together a program for discussion at a later event when several areas of Texas were represented.

On May 7, 2000 David presented the program for discussion at the close of the Texas State Genoa Championship regatta held at Arlington Yacht Club.

After discussion it was decided to give David's proposal a try and make it retroactive to our first regatta of the year, the Mayor's Cup held at Grapevine Sailing Club on April 15 & 16, 2000.

Updated 04/2009

  • Participation will include any Texas member in good standing, which includes paid up membership in the Catalina 22 National Sailing Association

  • Minimum number of Texas Yachts to qualify as a circuit regatta is the number of yachts to make a fleet by the local club.

  • Local representation shall provide Regatta information to class membership (a participating representative must volunteer).

  • Out of state competitors will not count in the Texas standings nor toward the minimum number of Yachts for regatta qualification. However they are encouraged to participate and if there is interest, appropriate awards will be given.
