Catalina 22 Texas Circuit
The Texas Circuit was discussed over a year ago at
one of the local regattas. At that time David Hayslip volunteered to put
together a program for discussion at a later event when several areas of Texas
were represented.
On May 7, 2000 David presented the program for
discussion at the close of the Texas State Genoa Championship regatta held at
Arlington Yacht Club.
After discussion it was decided to give David's
proposal a try and make it retroactive to our first regatta of the year, the
Mayor's Cup held at Grapevine Sailing Club on April 15 & 16, 2000.
October 15, 2005 - New guidelines made to Texas Circuit
at FWBC are listed below and become effective in 2006:
GUIDELINES 2006
-
An
annual participation fee of $10.00 will be assessed each participant at
their first regatta. This is to pay for trophies etc.
-
Low point scoring system will be used;
awarding 1 point for first, 2 for second etc.
-
Points awarded for not competing will
equal 1+ number of boats participating in the circuit. This number may change
during the course of the circuit depending on entries received prior to the
registration cutoff.
-
June 1 is established as cutoff to sign
up to participate in the circuit and be scored.
-
Seven events will be scored; the best
five will count toward circuit standings.
-
Minimum
number of Texas Yachts to qualify as a circuit regatta is the number of
yachts to make a fleet by the local club.
-
Local
representation shall provide Regatta information to class membership (a
participating representative must volunteer).
-
Mayor's
Cup will be the first circuit of the year and awards will be at that event
the next calendar year.
-
Out
of state competitors will not count in the standings nor toward the minimum
number of Yachts for regatta qualification.
